Time machine, Normandie

This weekend me and the sis joined our parents at our family house in Normandie. It had been a little while since the last time all 4 of us were reunited, so my mom’s bday was the perfect occasion to do so!

This house is over 100 year old, but I’d say the ’decor’ hasn’t changed since the 70’s at least. Going there is like going on a time machine… so many old photographs, furniture, objects… it’s like a giant antique shop. My sis ventured in the attic and found these old trunks which she decided she would turn into coffee tables. It was fun to help her out cleaning and screaming at the sight of unknown little bugs coming out here and there.

After enjoying a very much fresh off the market lunch, we went to the forest where I found peace and silence, just what I needed.

The day after we woke up with sun and the parents decided it was the perfect weather to go to the beach, which is about 1 hour away from the house.

What a nice day. I myself didn’t have the courage to go in the cold water, but my parents sure did. They’re world travelers, ya’ know. By 4pm we had to hit the road back to the house and then back to Paris. One bite of birthday cake and we were good to go!

Ugh, looking at these pictures makes me want to have a longer vacation, a real one. I keep picturing myself in a cute little house on a hill in California or something. Ooh but Eli is here soon, and we’re going to Berlin, woo woo! Oh seeeee. I complain, I complain… but life’s so sweet already :)
